Rehearsal Studios

One of the first dedicated rehearsal facilities built in the Los Angeles area with an infrastructure that caters directly to the needs not only of artists but also their production crews, The Power Plant offers first class amenities in an artistically conducive environment. The studios have hosted a wide variety of artists, including Gwen Stefani, No Doubt, Ben Harper, Beck, Gnarls Barkley, the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Mick Jagger, Sugar Ray, Korn, Megadeth, the Doobie Brothers, Courtney Love, Toto, Bonnie Raitt, Keb Mo, Jeff Beck, Oingo Boingo, Rod Stewart, Don Henley, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Hornsby – and the list goes on and on…

Designed by professional acoustic consultants and building contractors, the acoustics of the facility are the best in the industry. The walls, free floating for added isolation, are constructed of multiple layers of drywall, soundboard and acoustic treatment. Each room’s response is further tailored with the addition of drapes, carpeting and large custom-engineered bass traps.

Room 1, 1000sq ft (40 feet by 26 feet), has been designed to deliver the compression and acoustic signature of a large club or theatre stage. This room is a favorite of many hard rock acts.

Room 2, 2000sq ft (50 feet by 40 feet), has the warmer, more ambient sonic signature of a larger hall or arena stage, but without the “mud” usually associated with rehearsal rooms of this size.

The Power Plant is equipped with arena-grade gear and experienced technicians. The complete rental inventory of Schubert Systems is available to artists in the studio, for a seamless transition from rehearsals to the stage.

Our clients value their privacy. Larger facilities cannot offer this. For maximum privacy, both rooms may be rented as a package. Most of our high profile and touring clients seek out this option that only we can offer. In this configuration, the entire facility becomes an extension of the artist’s production without onlookers or traffic from other rehearsal rooms. The ‘privacy package’ is ideal for record pre-production, gearing up for tour, live recording, network media uplinks and management showcases.
